About Me

Anything with an engine that goes fast! Been an Unlimited fan since the early 70's. It's all Salt Walther's fault. I grew up in the same town as the Walther Family's Marina where the kept their toys. The first Unlimited I ever saw was the 68 Bud sitting in front of their marina after they had bought it from Bernie. Dean Chenowith also lived east of Dayton in Xenia at this time. Gene Whipp was another well known Dayton driver and Ron Snyder is from Piqua just north of Dayton. My first Unlimited race was the 1974 Hydroglobe in Dayton, OH. Smilin' George Henley won that day in the Winged Wonder. I've never been part of a boat racing team but I did spend a number of years crewing in ASA (American Speed Association) and ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) and the local Bullrings around southern Ohio. It was a experience I'll cherish for life.
