From the Yahoo hydro site: "Dave villwock. Set the pro stock 1 1/4 mile record @107mph."

Is there nothing he can't do!? :D

For those of you that are strictly U-boat fans, a pro stock is a modified normally aspirated big block flat bottom boat.

On a bummer side note, the limited hydro race in Jensen Beach Florida that was scheduled to happen two weeks from now has been postponed until October due to one last minute permit issue. :( The up side to that is that the primary sponsor, Land Shark beer, is sticking with the race for October. :D I know the race committee worked their keisters off to make it happen! Everybody, please drink Land Shark beer,....for the betterment of racing!

FYI...the 107 mph run is 7 mph over the old record, and is the same as the GP record, set by Jean Theoret, on the same size course!!! :D

Theoret set that record in 2001 in Hampton Virginia in his "Casino De Montreal" boat, and at that time the GP engine rules were pretty much wide open. Today's GP's have engine restrictions for parity and cost concerns. Dave's pro stock run is really amazing!!!

I understand the stock 2.5 liter hydro record might have been upped too!

For those who haven't had the opportunity to see what Dave Villwock's Pro-Stock flatbottom looks like, here it is at the Yelm race a week ago. Note the safety capsule, the leftside skidfin, offset rudder, the rear cavitation plate, etc...

Most intriguing is the outside steering wheel!!!

Thank you Lon for posting the pics. Dave's radical set up seems to be rendering traditional flat bottom set ups obsolete,...big time!

Hey Lon, can I copy those pics and post them on a couple of other boat racing web sites? I know other racers and fans would get a "kick" seeing them. Of course I`d mention the pics were provided by you.
